Often we overlooked some models that actually give us the best bang for buck, for example, the Gigabyte Gaming A16.
Depending on your region and country, they may have different CPU and GPU combination but our focus today is this configuration – Intel Core i7-13620H and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050. At the price range of RM3600, this is a compelling option for gamers and creators looking for a strong price-to-performance ratio, making it a reliable machine for both modern gaming and productivity tasks.
Design and Build Quality
The Gaming A16 has a clean and minimalist aesthetic that avoids the overly aggressive look of many gaming laptops. Its chassis is reasonably slim and the 180-degree display hinge offer a modern and versatile design. While it is not the lightest laptop, we can understand because it has to strike a balance to have a reasonable cost. Most importantly, the build quality feels solid and robust.
The “Golden Curve Keyboard” is designed for a comfortable and quiet typing experience, with a good travel distance and enlarged keycaps.
The inclusion of a large touchpad is also a nice touch for general use.

Display: Fast, Fluid, and Functional
This 16-inch 1920×1200 IPS panel has a 165Hz refresh rate. The 16:10 aspect ratio offers more vertical screen real estate compared to the traditional 16:9, which is a great benefit for both productivity and immersive gaming.
Frankly speaking, this display would satisfy most of the user’s requirements until you start to dig upon the colour accuracy. It may not be ideal for highly demanding professional creative works, but for home or individual creators, this display is sufficient. Like I mentioned, you will need to make some compromises in order to achieve an affordable price point, and I think this is an OK option.
Performance: CPU and GPU
The i7-13620H is a capable CPU with 6 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores. It should handle any of your task without any trouble. For those who want to save some money, this laptop also comes with the Intel Core i5-13420H with 4 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores. The difference? You save about RM300, give and take, and of course it is a decent trade off if your everyday task does not require a lot of CPU processing power.
As for the GPU, some might look down upon the RTX 4050 because it is NVIDIA’s 40-series entry range GPU, however, at 80W max TGP configuration, the RTX 4050 can easily meet your gaming needs without any issues.
Remember, the screen resolution is at 1920×1200. In our gaming test, at Ray Tracing Ultra settings, Cyberpunk 2077 can achieve a respectable 30~40 fps. That is before we turn on frame generation. The laptop comes with two RAM slots and two M.2 slots. You have the option to upgrade in the future.
The WINDFORCE cooling system effectively manages thermals to keep the CPU and GPU at stable temperatures under load. During gaming test, we could observe how it keeps the CPU and GPU within the range of 70C~80C, and that is a very good performing laptop cooling system.
The 76Wh battery provides decent unplugged time for general tasks, but as with all gaming laptops, you’ll need to stay plugged in to get the maximum performance out of the CPU and GPU while gaming.

Overall, the Gigabyte Gaming A16 (GA6H) with the i7-13620H and RTX 4050 is a fantastic option for a mid-range gaming machine. It combines an excellent value for money CPU-GPU pairing with a fast, immersive display and effective cooling in a well-built chassis. It provides excellent bang for the buck and is a great choice if you’re looking for a laptop that can handle modern gaming without breaking the bank.
